How to Join
Membership is open year-round. Membership will begin on the date of
enrollment and will be active for one year.
Membership dues are $400.00 per year.
New and returning members may apply on-line using the application form on
the application page of this website or print the application form and mail it
to VAGA at the address listed below. Once the application is approved by
the membership committee, an invoice will be mailed to the member.
Members will the receive membership documentation through the mail.

Joining VAGA
Who Can Join VAGA?
Membership is open to Attorneys, Financial Planners, and Geriatric Care
Managers who service veterans and their families.
Members must be committed to the highest standards of ethics in
representing their clients and be focused on their client's welfare.
Attorneys must be licensed and in good standing with a state BAR.
Attorneys may become accredited through the VA, but accreditation is not
mandatory for membership.
Financial Planners and Advisors who wish to educate veterans and their
families about potential benefits that are available from the Department of
Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DOD) and who wish
to learn more about how VA benefits relate to long term care planning and
the IRS.
Geriatric Care Managers who wish to educate their clients/patients
regarding potential VA and DOD benefits, as well as understand how and
when these benefits can be used to pay for personal care.
Each member must recognize and accept that only VA accredited
attorneys/agents can work directly with claimants and their families in the
preparation, presentation, and prosecution of claims and that no fee of any
kind may be charged related to these specific services to a claimant or other
interested third party by anyone, with the exception of work associated with a
denied claim, as allowed by 38 U.S.C. 501(a), 5904 and 38 CFR 14.629.
